The Bad Batch follows Arlen (Suki Waterhouse) after she's left in a Texas wasteland fenced off from civilization. While trying to navigate the unforgiving landscape, Arlen is captured by a savage band of cannibals led by the mysterious Miami Man (Jason Momoa). With her life on the line, she makes her way to The Dream (Keanu Reeves). As she adjusts to life in 'The Bad Batch' Arlen discovers that being good or bad mostly depends on who's standing next to you. (Mongrel Media)

angielski A post-apocalyptical madness that gets off to a brutal start only to later degrade to total apathy. In the beginning, you get a heroine who got kidnapped. You know nothing. Then someone chops off her leg and arm and some local hobos cook and eat those chopped-off limbs. You stare at it in a horrified fascination, waiting for what comes next. But nothing comes next, except for boredom and vexation. The icing on the cake is the monologue Keanu Reeves that lasts fifteen minutes and says jack shit. Fascinating. ()

angielski The Bad Batch is a film to watch if you want to see something unconventional, intense, with strong characters and a gritty plot that will hit you hard. The film softens a little here and there, but you still get the feeling that it's something really rough. However, if you want to see a horror film, look elsewhere. This is gritty and animalistic, but not horror. ()

angielski I almost died of boredom. I haven't failed this brutally in a long time. Jim Carrey is unrecognizable and not worth watching because of him (at least he appeared in the movie after a long time. Actually, only lovers of absolutely stagnant storytelling pace can achieve some satisfaction, which eventually aims to bring some higher message, but even Momoa thinks that fanatic fans of Suki Waterhouse will enjoy it the most. Fine, but otherwise, I cannot recommend this two-hour cannibalistic oddity to anyone. 🐾 ()

angielski Its charm definitely had The Bad Batch. I can't remember the last time I saw something similar in terms of visuals. The film started with a super raw scene right away. The omnipresent dirt, sand, and tropical dryness surrounded the entire runtime, as did the characteristic soundtracks. Visually, musically, and in terms of acting, I can't fault it. In terms of the plot, it was a different story, because it had a minimal storyline. This distant cousin of Mad Max could have been a cult classic and could have established a new column of anti-utopian post-apocalyptic mindfucks, but it still lacked a little something. ()
