Pechowy koszykarski łowca talentów (Adam Sandler) odkrywa wyjątkowego gracza z trudną przeszłością i postanawia zabrać go do Stanów bez zgody drużyny. Choć piętrzą się przed nimi przeszkody, robią wszystko, by jednym genialnym rzutem udowodnić, że zasługują na miejsce w NBA. (Netflix)

There are countless sports movies out there, but it seems like you can never have too many. This one stands out with Adam Sandler in the lead, playing it straight, which he always does well. The film is a treat for NBA fans, but even non-fans will find some well-crafted life dramas to enjoy. ()
Hustle is like a situation at the end of a game when there are just a few seconds left, and the team, after a timeout, executes a rehearsed play for the winning shot. The audience is like the defending team, fully aware of what the opponent is about to do, but if the signal is executed by quality players and at the right level, it can't be stopped. It’s basketball balboa-ing in Philly, where Sandler demonstrates the subtle differences between scouting and stalking, and you can see he’s like a fish in water. Moreover, there's the assurance that a lot of different references and a dozen current and former players playing themselves or someone else will grab the attention of NBA fans. What pleased me the most was the brief mention of the assistant who prepared shipments for the "Mailman" from the Jazz for 18 years. ()
Adam Sandler in more serious roles is just as good as the comedic Adam Sandler, and this is no different. Otherwise, it's a classic sports movie in the style from zero to hero, which doesn't impress but doesn't bore either. I deduct the fourth star for the lack of a final clash, which would have beautifully rounded off the whole film, but it somehow feels like they didn't really know how to wrap up the whole thing, and that's quite a pity. The traditional scheme of one sports success, beautifully played and directed, full of emotions and well-paced. I was considering giving it 4 stars, but in the end, I gave it a full score, as there haven't been many movies recently that have impressed me at least like this. Adam Sandler is excellent here as in all dramatic roles, Ben Foster has lost the aura of a good actor in recent years and now only plays caricatures (and I haven't even seen Žižka). One of the best movies on Netflix this year, although the bar is still set quite low. ()
Loved it. Adam Sandler has matured and as most actors stagnate in their old age (Willis and co), he is having a decent acting heyday. I like these zero to hero motivational sports stories, so far none have outright pissed me off, and since they really only come around once a year I appreciate the present qualities enough. The storyline isn't surprising, but that doesn't matter at all. The film has heart, drive, decent dialogue, a charismatic cast, emotion, tension, power, energy, motivation, humour, great music and thrilling matches (especially with the central rival, he was a proper son of a bitch)There are few wisecracks that will stick in my memory, and overall it is a very enjoyable film (basketball fans will be ready for one more star). 8/10.
