Alan was born in Los Angeles, California. Alan's passion for cinematography evolved through photojournalism and documentary work. He attended Brooks Institute for two years before leaving to travel the globe. He captured portraits from India to Peru and Africa to Ireland. An impressive stills portfolio led to an apprenticeship with Jeffrey Kimball, ASC on John Woo's Windtalkers in 2000. His first DP credit, Coleridge's Couch, was produced by John Woo and earned "Best Cinematography" at the New York Independent Film Festival. Alan has numerous narrative, commercial, and music video credits under his belt. He was in pre-production as the DP on another feature film.
