Biografia

Vicente ARANDA (1926 - 2015, Spain) moved to Venezuela at the age of 22. After returning to Barcelona in 1955, he met other members of the Escuela de Barcelona. After his film debut Promising Future (1965) he became more interested in experimental films. His second film, Fata morgana (1965), would be of great influence on the Barcelona School of Film. The exploration of sexuality played a large part in his work, such as in Sex Change (1977) and Lovers (1991), his most successful film, which won two Goya Awards.
