Mullen Jr. was born in Artane, Ireland, and at age 14 founded the band that would later become one of the biggest rock bands in history—U2. As the drummer and percussionist, he helped elevate the band to superstar status in the late 80's and early 90's, with the albums The Josua Tree and Achtung Baby.
