An interesting premise, but a weak script that gradually devolves into a parody of itself. Of course, some of the futuristic visions are fine and quite believable, but there’s nothing else that makes this film compelling. There is no suspense, the action is lukewarm and the cliché at the end is quite tiresome. The most entertaining part of the whole film then is Arnold's attempt at acting. But even when he does break, his smile will always look like he just stepped on a thumbtack with his bare foot. ()
Either a good actor and a good sci-fi whodunit, or Arnold and lots of action. The two just don't go together. That's why this film looks the way it does. ()
Mentally, this could have resulted in a new The Terminator, but the story should not have changed into a messy action blur without rhyme or reason in the second half. Arnold Schwarzenegger does a decent job, but the plot confusion has no chance of being saved. ()
