Backwoods hicks mistake barrels of toxic waste for moonshine and become tobacco chewin’, gut-stompin’, cannibal kinfolk from hell! The goriest laugh-riot ever produced. Redneck Zombies is an unforgettable onslaught of dismemberment and human body parts... (Troma Entertainment)

Not all Troma films are created equal. Though distributed by Troma, this isn't one of their original creations, and it shows. While Troma is known for low-budget gems, this film takes amateur filmmaking to a whole new level. A group of Troma fans decided to shoot their own twisted zombie flick in the woods. Their passion is evident, and the gore effects are surprisingly decent for an amateur project. But that's where the praise ends. The attempts at humor are painfully unfunny, reminiscent of the worst kind of forced comedy. The over-the-top acting was nearly unbearable. I'm usually lenient with amateur efforts, but this one tested my patience. I rarely give out Boo! ratings, but Redneck Zombies deserves it. Watching this film was torture, and I only finished it out of sheer determination. Hopefully, my next dive into the world of B-movies will yield better results and not another pile of trash. ()
