It's a pleasant story that passes by, leaving you with some nice feelings and a belief in better relationships between people for a moment. Yet these feelings quickly fade, and it's quite possible that the next day you won't remember much from the film. But that first impression and those first feelings are really quite pleasant. ()
A pleasant movie that reminds me of A Good Year in many regards. Only with the difference that A Good Year’s characters were way more likeable and the locations were one grade higher; I’m not saying that Kevin Kline didn’t put on a good show or that Paris was any less charming than the French countryside. It’s all about what personalities and what places I’m personally drawn to and My Old Lady is just on a different level in this regard. On the other hand, some of Kevin Kline’s business skills make me laugh to this day. ()
