On one wall of the room where the brutally murdered bodies are found, the word "rage" has been spelled out in the victims' blood. A year passes, but the murderer is not found. The case erodes people's ability to trust in others, particularly that of three pairs of people in a fishing village, in Tokyo, and in Okinawa, who have recently befriended someone with a mysterious past. Beyond lost trust lies rage, an emotion with a tendency to turn violent and expose the mystery behind a murder in unforeseen ways. (San Sebastian International Film Festival)

I do not understand at all the praise this movie has received on this site. The film caught my attention at first glance, so I did not even hesitate when I was choosing entertainment for the evening. But what the Japanese created here would be a mystery even for a pregnant fat sloth from the jungle around Zambezi. The first moments were not that bad. After a while the creators began with a narration so wooden that those 142 minutes were truly a misery. Towards the end I felt like I just had a lobotomy and wondered in vain what was even happening in those scenes. Despite the hectolitres of tears shed by the Japanese actors and actresses I had to try really hard not to laugh. ()
