Lily Collins discovers that her recently deceased father hid Simon Pegg locked in an underground bunker for thirty years. Should she let him out? Can she believe what he says? And why did her father lock him in there in the first place? Interesting questions, uninteresting answers. Inheritance is a tedious borefest full of giant logic holes that tries to mask its silliness with lofty dialogue and grand moral dilemmas. Realistically, though, the film is worth seeing just to see that Pegg can handle a serious role. He can. And now that you know that, you don't need to watch Inheritance anymore. ()
A fine intimate thriller starring the gorgeous Lily Collins and a devilish Simon Pegg! The patriarch of a very wealthy family dies suddenly and leaves his daughter an unpleasant inheritance, where terrifying secrets from the past begin to surface. The film suffers a bit from a longer running time, but otherwise builds on mystery, the performances and a fair amount of twists and turns that can surprise. Simon Pegg enjoys his role immensely and pulls the film to slightly above average heights. Too bad the violence is sparse.
