Gameplay and release date of GTA 6. What will GTA 6 Look Like?
Table of Contents
The least information in these leaks was related to game mechanics, but fortunately some of them contain a few sneak peaks of what we may expect in this matter. The June reports (the same which indicated the Narcos' inspiration) mention about a balance between real-life events and entertainment – supposedly we shouldn't expect such realistic solutions as in the case of Red Dead Redemption II (for example, there is no hunger indicator). Despite that, we can be sure that players will delve into game's content.
The characters are supposed to speak different languages and the value of items and buildings will change over the years (which, by the way, indicates that the game may have a very long storyline that takes part in different periods of time). Extreme weather phenomena, such as hurricanes or floods, may also occur as random events. According to this source, we will get an opportunity to develop a criminal empire, which is a feature similar to that in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories.
The advanced weather system described above was also mentioned in the leak which appeared in September, 2019. Another leak that spawned in the same month suggests that Rockstar will change the mechanics of weapon trading. In other words, it will be more difficult to obtain a rocket launcher (though not impossible). The game would also include such features as robberies, running your own businesses and opportunity of having fun in many mini-games – like carnival entertainment, gambling, rafting and bowling. The same source provides information about the buildings – supposedly there will be more places that we can visit or enter in the cities, with particular emphasis on shopping malls, police stations, fast food restaurants and petrol stations.
When are we going to play GTA 6?
The information that probably appears most frequently in all rumors about GTA 6 is the release date. Most leaks suggest that the game could hit the market in 2020 or 2021. For example, the already mentioned source related with PS5 indicated that the next title of Rockstar Games studio will be available on Christmas of 2020. The next year, as one of the options, this was also suggested by a leak published at the 4Chan forum in August 2017 (the second possibility of GTA6 release date mentioned in this leak was year 2019 – well, we can exclude it now).
Years 2020 or 2021 have appeared in a recent statement by Steven Ogga, who played Trevor in GTAV. The actor said that the games (by default, titles designed by Rockstar Games) are developed in seven to eight years – and as far as we know, the last installment of the series debuted in 2013. Such reports sometimes include even more release dates. For example, the already mentioned leak that appeared on The Know channel in March 2018, has proposed a slightly more distant date of 2022. The information which we have received in September suggest that the game will be announced at the end of the next year. It may sound a bit disappointing, cause it indicates a rather distant release date of the long-awaited GTA6.
