Arksync
A 2D platformer primarily focused on using weapons in combat, enriched with roguelike elements. Arksync offers a sci-fi setting and the action takes place on the Deimos moon. We have to face mechanical armies of opponents, controlling a fast moving battle droid.
Arksync is a 2D platform shooter enriched with roguelike elements. This is the debut project of the independent studio Dykom Software. Most of the work was done by Mike Garn, who previously worked as an artist on such games as Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, Call of Duty: Black Ops III, Prodeus and Apex Legends.
Plot
The action takes place on the surface of Deimos, the smaller of the two moons of the planet Mars. The vision of the future presented by the game is not optimistic - humanity has been decimated by a plague of nanocytes. The survivors vegetate in the darkness, feeding on uninfected substances.
The player controls a battle droid whose systems have been taken over by a small mechanical teddy bear - our task is to deliver this toy to its home. It won't be easy, as the moon is patrolled by an army of robots and drones.
Mechanics
While playing Arksync, we explore maps, avoid threats and fight enemies. The gameplay is strongly focused on shooting and we can use a rich arsenal of firearms and laser weapons.
The pace of the fights is very high, and the engines installed in our droid help us survive them, allowing for high jumps and quick dodges. W ecan also use a variety of gadgets and upgrade the equipment.
We have a limited number of lives and if we use them all, our droid will be irretrievably destroyed along with all the equipment. A new droid will then take its place. However, it is possible to store weapons, upgrades, and gadgets at the base, which allows to keep part of the equipment.
Game modes
The game only supports singleplayer.
