Assassin's Creed III: Liberation Remastered is a remastered version of Assassin's Creed III: Liberation. The original game, developed by Ubisoft Sofia, made its debut on PlayStation Vita in 2012. Two years later, it received its HD version, released on PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360.
Plot
Assassin's Creed III: Liberation Remastered takes place between 1765-1780. The main character of this game is called Aveline de Gandpré. She is fighting for freedom and justice under the guidance of Agate - a former slave and a master of the Assassin Brotherhood in New Orleans. Although the title lacks references to Desmond Miles' adventures, Connor, the main character of Assassin's Creed III, appears in it. Moreover, it is worth mentioning that the whole game is stylized on a propaganda product developed by the evil Abstergo corporation.
Mechanics
InAssassin's Creed III: Liberation Remastered , the developers provide us with three extensive maps: New Orleans, Bayou and the slave village in Mexico. The action is presented from the third person's perspective (TPP) - we travel through the different locations, complete missions given to use by NPCs, and do various optional activities, as well as fight with encountered opponents (both humans and animals).
The latter can be eliminated with a stealth attack or during a short QTE sequence. In addition to the classic hidden blade, Aveline has other weapons, such as a whip, a blower, and a shooting umbrella. The game introduces a new and interesting feature - our protagonist can wear disguises, which provide our character with unique abilities. For example, in a servant's outfit, she can go past a guard unnoticed and blend with the crowd, while as a rich lady, she can charm enemies or bribe a patrol standing on her way.
Technical aspects
Like the HD version, Assassin's Creed III: Liberation Remastered stands out from the original thanks to improved mechanics (some missions received a few changes; this version also introduced a day and night cycle) and significantly improved the graphics. The game runs in 4K resolution (on PCs, PlayStation 4 Pro, and Xbox One X) and uses HDR technology.
