Croc: Legend of the Gobbos Remaster is a new version of the 1997 platforming game, offering improved graphics and control schemes, as well as additional content. The remaster was created by Argonaut Games studio, known for the original.
Plot
The story in Croc: Legend of the Gobbos Remaster is no different from the original.
The main character is a lively crocodile named Croc, raised by furry creatures of the Gobbos race. Due to the invasion by the evil Baron Dante and his entourage, the Gobbos were kidnapped and imprisoned in cages. The only survivor is the titular little crocodile, who undertakes the fight against the oppressor in order to free his friends.
Gameplay
Controls in Croc: Legend of the Gobbos Remaster have been updated compared to the original. The game is still about exploring various levels, defeating enemies and collecting crystals. Having enough crystals is a requirement to unlock entrances to hidden locations and liberate all Gobbos. The number of friends we manage to free affects the ending of the story.
The crocodile hero fights using his tail, performing a full spin with it, and stomping - it is a vigorous ground drop after a jump. With this type of strike, he breaks crates containing items to collect.
Dexterity challenges are diversified by simple logic puzzles.
The studio has also prepared Crocipedia, a large digital museum containing assets such as game design documents, concept art, animation tests, as well as interviews with team members.
Graphics
Croc: Legend of the Gobbos Remaster offers improved high-resolution graphics that still retain their simple, colorful 3D appearance.
