developer: Sassy Chap Games publisher: Team17
Date Everything! is a funny dating simulator that allows us to establish close relationships with... elements of home furnishings. The game is the debut project of Sassy Chap Games - a development studio from Los Angeles, founded by a group of voice actors: Robbie Daymond, Ray Chase, Max Mittelman, and Amanda Hufford. The release of this game was handled by the Team17 company.
Plot
In Date Everything! we embody a character who has been fired from their job and replaced by artificial intelligence. As it turned out shortly afterwards, this was not the only major change in their life. After receiving a gift in the form of magical glasses - "umaviators" - we can learn more about the elements of our home's furnishings, each of which turns out to be a full-fledged person with an individual character and preferences.
Gameplay
Gameplay in Date Everything! is based on two pillars. The first pillar is the exploration of the interior of our character's house, presented from the first-person perspective (FPP). By searching individual rooms, we discover items and objects inside them, which, when looked at through the "umaviators", turn out to hide colorful personalities. This applies to things like a vacuum cleaner, a laundry basket, a refrigerator, and even... the air in the house.
Conversations with them, which are the second pillar of the game, are presented in a form reminiscent of titles from the visual novel genre. Each of them has its own anthropomorphic appearance (which we can admire in the cartoon portrait) and has been given a voice. The way our relationships with them develop is influenced by both the decisions we make and the individual personality traits of each of them. As a result, our interactions with everyday objects can end in three ways - love, friendship or hatred.
Graphics and music
The graphic design of Date Everything! combines a three-dimensional environment with two-dimensional character portraits. The gameplay unfolds to the accompaniment of a soundtrack, which primarily consists of the main themes of the individual objects of our desires... or our hatred.
