A mobile version of Visceral Games' science-fiction survival horror film set in the realities of science-fiction survival. The game was created by the team of IronMonkey Studios, who have created mobile versions of such hits as The Sims 3, Need for Speed Undercover or Mirror's Edge. In this case, however, we are not dealing with a classic conversion, but with a completely new plot telling the spread of a deadly epidemic of necromorphs.
The action of the game starts 3 years after the events, known from the original Dead Space, on the same space station where the action of the second installment of the game series takes place. Players assume the role of an engineer named Vandal, controlled by a dangerous sect of unitologists who believe that the appearance of necromorphs is part of the divine plan leading to the extinction of humanity. After breaking the security measures that open up access to the station's private accommodation, our protagonist is aware of the danger he led to and starts a race against time to stop the spread of mutants across the entire base.
The game is shown in a third-person perspective, and its mechanics do not differ significantly from the original, introducing only changes resulting from the specification of mobile devices. Players have at their disposal weapons from the original, as well as some new ones (Plasma Saw, Core Extractor) and even melee blows, ending with impressive dismemberment of the opponent. The possibility of improving the suit by means of special power nodes and the necessity of using additional kinesis and traineeship modules were not forgotten either.
Graphic design of the game is at a high level, putting emphasis on the play of lights and specific atmosphere, known from the original. In Dead Space we will also hear an epic soundtrack and a full acting dubbing. In addition to the main feature mode, there is also a special survival mode, in which, using the equipment acquired in the campaign, we face new waves of necromorphs.
