Dice Legacy: Definitive Edition

Dice Legacy is an indie game that combines roguelike elements with survival, city builder and board game in one with the ability to play against others. The studio responsible for the game is DESTINYbit, known for Empires Apart.

Plot

Dice Legacy is set in a fantasy steampunk universe. When you land on the shore of a new land, you decide to establish your settlement there. As a ruler, your goal is to expand and take care of the constant development of the city. Managing resources and people is not the only difficulty, as you are faced with commercial and territorial conflicts with other factions that inhabit your territory. These include the ancient and mysterious civilization The Others worshipping a mighty deity that is said to create destiny.

Mechanics

The gameplay in Dice Legacy resembles what we know from the economic board games, where it's important to place our pawns in the right place in order to get specific goods. The game takes place in real time on procedurally generated maps, which we observe from an isometric perspective. We can enjoy it in single player mode, but also in the co-op with friends or online PvP.

The main element of the game is the dices, on which everything depends here. These are divided into special types, each with different possibilities. And so we have the cubes of peasants, citizens, soldiers, priests or traders. It depends on them how much wood, stone or food we collect, and whether we can process these raw materials into specific products, such as beer or steel bars. These can then be used to construct better and better buildings. Like in a city builder, we choose the type of building and the place where we want it to stand and wait for the subordinates to build it.

We also have the ability to forge new dices, improve existing ones and merge several into one, or combine them at first glance to see what results they achieve. And even the creation of a unique dice that will accompany us in every subsequent game.

But that's not all. Our dices require our care, they can get sick, and freeze during an icy blizzard or be injured during an attack by enemy units.

Dice Legacy is a fully three-dimensional production, which looks like a miniature wargame combined with modern The Settlers game.
