Final Fantasy XVI: Echoes of the Fallen is the first major expansion to the jRPG Final Fantasy XVI. Like the base game, it was developed by Square Enix.
Plot
The story of Final Fantasy XVI: Echoes of the Fallen focuses on dark crystals that appear on the Valisthean black market. Seeking answers as to their origins, Clive and his allies follow the trail of suspicious merchants, leading to an abandoned tower of the Fallen, the Sagespire. The protagonist must thus discover its secrets.
Mechanics
Final Fantasy XVI: Echoes of the Fallen doesn't change the mechanics in any way. Instead, it adds a new storyline and new quests. It also adds the Buster Sword, the signature weapon of Final Fantasy VII's protagonist, Cloud, and introduces a new music track - Away (1987) Orchestrion Roll for us to listen to in our hideout.
Technical aspects
Final Fantasy XVI: Echoes of the Fallen is not a standalone expansion, requiring the base version of Final Fantasy XVI.
