An interesting strategy game that allows us to participate in the so-called "rat race". In short, it's all about achieving success in four areas of life (career, money, education, happiness) in the shortest possible time and thus crushing the competition. We can play the game ourselves (with or without a computer), as well as with friends (up to a maximum of four). The main screen of the game shows a map of a small town, on which several public buildings were scattered. The most important of these is the employment agency, where, as the name suggests, we will try to get a job. In addition, in the city there is a bank, factory, several shops, two hotels, an eatery and a university. In each of these facilities, in addition to the standard services available, it will also be possible to work, provided that of course the thickness of the intermediary allows us to do so. Time is measured with the clock at the bottom of the screen. We have exactly 24 hours to carry out all the activities, which translates immediately into the whole week. What we are going to do and how long we are going to do depends only on us. It is worth considering carefully before taking further steps so as not to waste the limited time on stupidity.

The protagonist we lead has to eat once a week, buy clothes from time to time and pay a high rent every month for the collapsing ore, probably just by mistake, called a flat. Since money is not on earth, you have to try to earn it. Lack of education eliminates well-paid jobs from the place, so you have to start from the lowest level, e.g. as a cleaner or helper in an eatery. Frequent visits to the university raise our qualifications, so that we will quickly move on the career ladder. With a good inflow of cash, it is worth considering the elements of equipment in our apartment, because happiness and life in luxury is as important in this game as climbing more and more serious positions....

Jones in the Fast Lane is by far the most original product of Sierra in the first half of the nineties, a real raisin among Quests secondary deluge. Simple rules of the game, a wide range of possibilities in taking action, as well as elements of randomness make the program pulls like a devil and does not allow you to leave the monitor for a long time.
