Totally Accurate Battle Simulator
Kingmakers is a game combining action and strategy elements, which allows us to travel to medieval battlefields in the skin of a modern soldier. The game was developed by the Redemption Road Games studio (co-created by Road Redemption) and published by tinyBuild. The sources of inspiration for the creators included titles such as Chivalry, Fortress, Mount & Blade and World War Z.
Plot
Kingmakers takes us to a science fiction universe on the brink of destruction. During the game we play the role of a daredevil who, wanting to stop the apocalypse, is transported to England in 1461. It's the end of the Middle Ages. He must influence the outcome of the bloody war and in this way change the course of events.
Mechanics
The pillar of Kingmakers are battles, during which we have to capture enemy fortresses and defend our fortifications against enemies. Before each battle begins, we build various structures in turn-based mode and also deploy our units. The battles themselves take place in real time, and during them we can both take part in the fight directly and give orders to our subordinates (or rely on the skills of our officers).
Watching the action from a third-person perspective (TPP), we take control of a soldier and use modern tools of destruction. We eliminate enemies using an arsenal that includes, among others, machine guns and sniper rifles, shotguns or grenades. It's also possible to decimate enemy units by driving into them with an armored off-road vehicle, as well as to call for the assistance of an attack helicopter.
Thousands of units take part in the clashes, including knights, archers and cavalry. The AI oversees their behavior, ensuring they make dynamic decisions based on the situation on the battlefield.
Game modes
The game can be played alone or in online co-op for up to three people.
Technical aspects
Kingmakers runs on the Unreal Engine.
