Pistol Whip

Pistol Whip is a hybrid of FPS and rhythm game, developed for virtual reality sets. The production was created by the independent studio Cloudhead Games. Among the sources of inspiration for the project are films like Equilibrium or the John Wick series.

Mechanics

In Pistol Whip the action is shown from first-person perspective. The game is divided into missions, in which we land at the very center of the action, and our task is to eliminate the opponents, whether during a bank robbery or an android rebellion. We have full freedom of movement - apart from shooting our adversaries with the title pistol (or pistols) we can remove them from our way by means of melee attacks or avoid fire and hide behind cover.

Our actions are evaluated by a scoring system on an ongoing basis, and in order to achieve high scores, we have to do all this to the rhythm of the music accompanying the game. We do not have any visual indicators, so we should the right momene to attack our opponent by ourselves. We can then boast of our achievements to the whole community thanks to the online rankings.

Technical aspects

Pistol Whip attracts attention thanks to its graphic design; the authors opted for expressive and unusual stylistics and bright colors. The game is accompanied by a soundtrack by Apashe, HVDES and Black Tiger Sex Machine.
