Pokémon X for 3DS by Nintendo is a production featuring a very recognizable universe. Similarly to the previous games from the Pokémon franchise, it is an RPG in which you “gotta catch ‘em all.” Pokémon X and Pokémon Y mark the start of the so-called sixth generation of the series. The title introduces, as usually, new characters and themes.
Gameplay
In Pokémon X you take control of trainers who travel through the world in order to find new, stronger Pokémon, catch them, train them, and fight other trainers. This title introduces new Pokémon species along with three starter creatures unavailable before – Chespin, Fennekin, and Froakie. Gameplay consists of world exploration, chatting with other heroes, and engaging in combats based on the well-proven turn-based formula. During fights you can use a few Pokémon, each characterized by different abilities and techniques.
Technical aspects
Pokémon X and Pokémon Y are the first in the franchise to utilise graphics featuring polygons, whereas the previous titles combined 2D and 3D elements. The world, models, and fighting sequences are all now in 3D. The new visuals allow for an improved use of the 3D screen of 3DS.
