Rugby 22 is the next installment of the rugby sports game series created by EKO Software. Rugby 22 contains a number of improvements, enhancing the gameplay familiar to fans of previous games.

Rugby 22 is the next part of sports game series which is a rugby simulator. Similarly to the previous two installments, it was developed by French studio EKO Software, responsible for including How to Survive or Handball. Rugby 22 was published by Nacon.
Mechanics
Just like in the previous installment of the series, players take part in rugby matches, during which they control individual players from a given team. New official teams and competitions have been included in the game. These include the top leagues, with all the clubs playing in them, as well as the main national teams, including France, Italy, Ireland and Japan. The game also offers the possibility to play matches with current rugby stars.
Game modes
There are two game modes available in the game. The player has the ability to both play solo and compete with friends in multiplayer mode.
Technical aspects
Rugby 22 features 3D graphics with a number of improvements to make the game stand out from previous installments in the series. These include improved AI, difficulty level improvements, better adjusting the gameplay to the current level of each player. The developers also focused on improving the character models and made sure that their facial features were more realistic. Thanks to the use of photogrammetry, it is especially noticeable on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
