Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma is a farming RPG, belonging to a series that started in 2006. The game was developed by Marvelous studio, and its release was handled by XSEED Games company. Like previous installments in the series, the game stands out from other representatives of the genre due to its greater emphasis on action.

Plot

Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma takes us to a fantasy universe, or more precisely – to the eastern land of Azuma. This area was hit by a cataclysm known as the Celestial Collapse, as a result of which the earth was shattered into pieces, the power flowing from the runes faded, and the deities of nature disappeared, making way for the spreading corruption.

However, not all is lost, because during the game we take on the role of an Earth Dancer character who is gifted with supernatural powers. From now on, their task is to rebuild Azuma, deal with the corruption, and make this land pulse with life again.

Gameplay

In Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma we view the action from a third person perspective (TPP). At the beginning we choose one of the two characters we want to play. We have nothing left to do but to embark on a journey and traverse Azuma far and wide.

We often face enemies during our journeys. We engage in dynamic battles with them and they usually come in a form of monsters created by corruption. During these battles, we make use of melee weapons and bows, as well as various combat skills.

This is not everything, as the game also allows us to run our own farm and rebuild subsequent villages, to which we can then attract residents. We can befriend and recruit other people to join our team. Some relationships can also turn into fiery romances. Thanks to all our actions, the lands plagued by disaster are gradually beginning to regain their former glory.
