Scoundrel PC
Scoundrel is a platform sneaking board designed for PCs. While playing, players manage a thieves' guild trying to overthrow the local nobility, as well as direct the thieves themselves during their missions and the appropriation of gold and the valuables of the lords.
Scoundrel is a 2D platformer released on PC that focuses on stealth gameplay. The game was developed by an independent studio Bullish Games, for which it was a debut project.
Story
While playing, players take command over a thieves guild. The organization operates in a powerful medieval metropolis, which is ruled by unscrupulous nobility with an iron fist.
Our task is to destroy the foundations of the power of the lords and to pry the city out of their control.
Mechanics
Scoundrel is a two-dimensional platform game in which the gameplay focused exclusively on stealt and sneaking. We will not see any combat system here. The player must perform the missions quietly, use shadows and avoid confrontation with enemies. If we are detected by the guards, the only thing that can save us from death is to flee.
The game is made more attractive by the choice of skills and gadgets. Interestingly, the members of the guild we are leading are randomly generated, receiving various features and special abilities. Every death is final. When a thief dies, the player has to choose another hero from the guild. The same happens when a character is caught or when we abandon a mission.
Between adventures we return to the guild. Its building can be upgraded and expanded, thus gaining access to useful bonuses. Of course, such investments are expensive, which is why searching for gold and valuables in the residences of the nobility plays a key role during the missions.
The campaign takes place on the map of the whole city, which is divided into districts. As players complete their quests, they slowly take control of subsequent sections of the metropolis, step by step approaching the overthrowing of the local lords.
Technical aspects
Scoundrel features simple graphics, adopting retro pixel-art, which, however, fits well with the atmosphere of the world.
