Sigma Theory is a political-fiction spy thriller, inspired by popular TV series such as Homeland or House of Cards. The game was developed for PC Windows and mobile devices by French studio Mi-Clos, known for a science-fiction strategy game Out There.
Plot
The game is set in a grim future, in the greatest powers in the world wage constant war to get a technological advantage over their rivals. You play as the chief of a powerful spy organization and your task is to lead the technological arms race and sabotage the competition.
Mechanics
The most important element of your job is maintaining a maximum effectiveness, as all your actions are assessed by the management board, which decides your further fate in the agency. The pressure and expectations of the board often force your to use unfair and unethical methods, as well as to face the consequences of your actions. The available actions include such misdeeds as providing weapons for terrorists operating in the country you want to destabilize.
The gameplay is turn-based, and one of the distinct features of Sigma Theory is an expansive plot with a large world and a multitude of varied characters and organizations. Unlike popular spy games and movies (such as the Tom Clancy's series), the production also features many science-fiction elements.
