Spirit Hunter: Death Mark II (released in Japan as Shinigami: Shibito Magire) is a horror adventure game. It is the third installment in the Spirit Hunter series, which includes the games Spirit Hunter: Death Mark and Spirit Hunter: NG. All three games were developed by Experience, a studio located in the Land of the Cherry Blossom, which also has to its credit Meikyuu Cross Blood: Infinity, Ray Gigant and Stranger of Sword City, among others.
Plot
In Spirit Hunter: Death Mark II, the protagonist of the first part, Kazuo Yashiki, the head of an ancient family specializing in supernatural matters, returns as the main character. He is hired to solve the case of mysterious related deaths that occur every ten years at a certain school located in the suburbs of Tokyo.
To facilitate his investigation, Yashiki begins working undercover as a teacher.
Game mechanics
Spirit Hunter: Death Mark II is an adventure game with RPG elements. The player is involved mainly in investigations. We are assisted by allies, and the choice of the character who will accompany us influences what locations are available to us and what items and clues we will find in them. We have conversations, gather evidence and solve simple puzzles as we play.
All the game's characters have statistics, affecting their fate during dangerous situations, but only those of the main character can be developed. Game is varied by the necessity of making regular decisions, which shapes the further development of the plot.
