Starcraft II: Legacy of the Void is the third episode of the continuation of one of the most popular real-time strategy computer game in history. The first part of this series was released in 1998 and received an expansion pack called Brood War. The second installment consist of three episodes: Wings of Liberty, Heart of the Swarm, and Legacy of the Void, all of which were developed by Blizzard.
Story
Legacy of the Void is the third part in the trilogy of StarCraft II. The player assumes the role of the commander of the powerful and technologically advanced Protoss, who have a very mysterious past. The campaign tells us about their adventures, focusing on the diplomatic aspect, so our task is often to resolve internal conflicts and look for compromises. Of course, more often than not, using a new, more powerful army.
Gameplay
StarCraft II in many respects resembles the original, because it did not change the essence of gameplay mechanics. However, the developers decided to split the game into three parts mentioned above. Each episode is devoted to one of three factions. Commanding Terran, Zerg and Protoss, we have to bring each of these races to victory, expanding the base, gathering resources, developing the technological capabilities and, of course, defeat the enemy. Each part of the game consists of several missions in which we take part in a story of a given faction full of twists and turns.
Protoss race really changed its fighting style. Their military has become much more mobile thanks to a completely new technology provided by the improved pylons. They allow you to teleport units as far as they can reach. Some representatives of this race also received an individual ability to teleport (Stalker). Movement speed of many other units was also increased (e.g. Zealots and Colossus).
Technology
One of the most notable features of the latest game is, of course, a completely new graphic design. The game utilizes the great capabilities of the new graphics engine, which is able to generate a large amount of three-dimensional and highly detailed units engaged in combat on great-looking maps. This solution allows you to freely manipulate the camera. The music, sound effect and taunts of every unit are also amazingly executed.
