Symphonia is a platformer tasking us with saving a musical world. It was developed by an indie studio Sunny Peak and published by Headup Publishing.
Plot
Symphonia is set in a fantasy world, powered and made alive through the power of music. When its founders and its orchestra vanish, the world falls silent. We play as a violinist Philemon, heading out on a journey to gather a new orchestra and restore life to the collapsing world.
Mechanics
Symphonia is a side-scroller. The players must traverse diverse, colorful, atmospheric stages. On our way, we must jump across platforms, avoid traps and obstacles. Our violin comes in handy during exploration and activating musical machinery, restoring life and energy to the world. Along the way we'll meet numerous NPCs, many of which are great musicians; it's up to us to convince them to join our orchestra.
Technical aspects
Symphonia features colorful, cartoonish graphics. One of the game's greatest strengths is its soundtrack, composed by Olivier Esman and performed by the Scoring Orchestra of Paris.
