UnderMine 2 PC

UnderMine 2 is the second installment of a series of action games with clearly outlined RPG and roguelike elements, launched in 2020. The production was handled by the independent studio Thorium, which also created the first part of the series.

Plot

In UnderMine 2 we find ourselves in a fantasy kingdom whose ruler - Faraam IV - is trying to regain the throne. In the background, another dramatic battle is unfolding, fought by the demonic siblings.

We take on the role of daredevils who venture deep into the underground beneath this land to face the dangers lurking there and obtain untold treasures.

Mechanics

In UnderMine 2 we watch the action from a bird's eye view. During the gameplay we traverse procedurally generated tunnels, carry out various quests, collect items, and fight enemies. During dynamic skirmishes, we eliminate opponents, making use of a wide range of melee weapons and various combat skills.

As we progress, we unlock new characters varied in terms of appearance, statistics, skills, available upgrades, and the ability to use ancient relics. The so-called Arcana provide protagonists with access to powerful abilities, such as throwing fireballs, summoning creatures, or manipulating time and space.

Additionally, during subsequent expeditions to the underground, we obtain more equipment which we can use on the battlefield. As we progress, we must face greater challenges. Death in the game means having to take control of another character.

Game modes

Unlike the first part of the series, UnderMine 2 can be played both alone and in cooperation mode for two people. We can also play with the second player locally, on a shared screen.

Technical aspects

The graphic design of UnderMine 2 is maintained in a cartoon style. The game is open to modding - players can create new items, characters, events, and quests using special tools.
