Venture Towns

Venture Towns is an economic strategy game about city management. The game was developed by Kairosoft studio, the authors of such titles as Game Dev Story, The Sushi Spinnery, Dungeon Village or Beastie Bay.

Plot

The player takes on the role of a high-ranked employee of a megaconglomerate who is tasked with building a utopian metropolis.

Game mechanics

Venture Towns is an economic strategy in which our task is to expand the city. The player constructs buildings, putting up houses, stores, service points or towers for business companies. The city is a private initiative, so we are not limited by the will of the voters, as it is in the case of mayors elected by the citizens.

The key to success is the correct positioning of structures so that they fit in with nearby buildings. Especially the creation of special districts, which provide additional bonuses and increase the price of land, is strongly encouraged.

Inhabitants also play an important role. We have to make it easier for them to move around the map, provide them with jobs and make sure they buy cars, houses and animals. There is also an option of organizing lotteries.

All this must be financially connected, forcing us to properly balance income and expenses.

Game modes

The game offers only single player mode.

Technical aspects

Venture Towns features simple but pleasing to the eye graphics. It was made in 2D in a retro style full of large pixels.
