Victory at Sea Atlantic is the third installment in a series of WW2 real-time strategy games originating from 2014. It was developed by Evil Twin, like the rest of the series.
Plot
Victory at Sea Atlantic has us playing as a naval commander operating in the Atlantic Ocean during World War II. Our actions determine how the subsequent battles unfold and how the entire conflict ends.
Mechanics
Victory at Sea Atlantic is set in the entire Atlantic Ocean, having us wage war in a massive area, stretching from the Arctic, through the North American coast, to Great Britain. As in the previous installment, the game takes place on one huge map, requiring making strategic choices, tactical decisions and commanding individual units.
The core gameplay mechanic are real-time battles, involving lots of different ships, submarines and airplanes. Each unit has unique traits, strengths and weaknesses we must make good use of to succeed. We also need to keep an eye on individual units, monitoring their fuel, food supply and crew.
That's not all, as we must also take care of our facilities, manage resources, build new structures and research new tech. Espionage and sabotage can also give us an advantage over the enemy.
Curiously, enemy units aren't the only threat waiting for us in the Atlantic waters. The game features a weather system, with changeable weather conditions that affect visibility in combat and may force us to modify our strategy (for example, by pitting our ships against gigantic waves).
Technical aspects
Victory at Sea Atlantic features very high-quality visuals. All the units are very detailed, while the water and explosions are all realistically animated.
