World of Outlaws: Dirt Racing 24 is a sequel to World of Outlaws: Dirt Racing released in 2022. They are both quite realistic racing games from the creators of the PC simulator iRacing, who offered their advanced technology to the Monster Games studio they acquired in 2021, hoping to conquer the console market. Both games use the license of the titular series, which organizes races of various classes of vehicles on oval-shaped gravel tracks. It is popular mainly in the United States.
Gameplay
World of Outlaws: Dirt Racing 24 is essentially an expanded and technologically improved version of the previous game. Despite its simulation foundations, it is a game designed to provide fun for players of all skill levels. Various optional assists make driving easier serve this purpose.
The nine vehicle categories available in the first part have been joined by two more: the Micro Sprint and the 410 Sprint Car without wings. The collection of tracks, previously comprising 47 facilities (almost half of which are licensed), has also been expanded with two entries: Kern Raceway and Millbridge Speedway. Additionally, the list of real drivers and racing teams for the 2024 season has been updated.
Career, Outlaw Challenge and other modes
As before, the core of World of Outlaws: Dirt Racing 24 is a career mode in which we start from local competitions for amateurs. We gradually start in more prestigious competitions, gaining sponsors and better equipment along the way. In Dirt Racing 24 the creators took care of a clearer structure of the career and more immersive racing weekends.
A bigger novelty is the Outlaw Challenge mode, in which we face challenges thrown at us by Danny Schatz, 10-time World of Outlaws champion in the Sprint Car class. The game also offers other forms of single-player fun, as well as an online multiplayer mode.
Graphics
World of Outlaws: Dirt Racing 24 features slightly refreshed visuals compared to the previous part, mainly in the interface area. The biggest technological change concerns the track surface, which changes dynamically during the races, affecting how the vehicles handle on later laps.
