Robot Entertainment studio has announced a new installment of the Orcs Must Die! series titled Deathtrap. In early 2025, you can step into the chaotic and action-packed orc-killing loop on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store) and Xbox Series X/S.

Orcs Must Die! Deathtrap is the fourth part of a series combining action game and tower defense. Players will be able to choose one of 6 battle mages, each with a unique play style, personality, and traps, and they will be strengthened on the principles of a rogue-lite title. The key to effectively repelling enemies is to find the right synergy between them and maximize their skill sets.

Importantly, we will be able to go into battle solo or with up to three other players, which will be appropriately scaled to the level of difficulty.

To diversify the fun, new buffs or debuffs will be drawn with each increasing wave of enemies, making each approach significantly different. Environmental elements like weather and time of day are also expected to be crucial, further impacting both the enemies and our defensive abilities. At the very end, however, a brutal fight with the boss - the General of the Orcs, awaits us.

Deathtrap remains true to the classic style of the series. Once again, it will be filled with witty banter, deliberately over-the-top physics, and an energetic soundtrack. According to the developers, every moment of the game is supposed to provide us with a "high dose of adrenaline."

By the way, to celebrate today's announcement, all Orcs Must Die! games and expansions have been heavily discounted on Steam, lasting until July 31st.
