The medieval theme is in bloom this month. Fans of Middle Ages had their appetites increased by the announcement of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, while millions are impatiently waiting for Manor Lords. To have the hunger a bit sated, many players have turned their heads towards Bellwright, which just recently entered Early Access program on Steam. Unfortunately, the game suffers from a lot of problems related to crashes and performance issues. If you would like to know more about them, here we have gathered everything that is known so far.

Crashes and performance issues in Bellwright explained

Bellwright combines open world survival genre with RPG and strategy. In such an environment, the player is impersonating a runaway, who was framed for the murder of the prince. Now, to clean their name, they must establish a settlement and build an army. You don’t have to do it alone, as the game offers online cooperation mode. Fans drawn by this vision have sadly encountered many issues with crashes and performance.

Players, who have decided to give this production a shot, are complaining about problems even on high-end setups. They report that Bellwright sucks their system resources, quickly saturating RAM memory, even though they have 16 GB installed. To be fair, it is minimum value mentioned by developers in system requirements, yet it doesn’t explain the crashes. Many fans believe that this is due to the use of still untamed Unreal Engine 5.

It is very important to remember that the title has only started its journey in Early Access. Many hiccups, including performance, are expected. It is also worth noting that more experienced and renown studios, like for example, Moon with their recently released No Rest for the Wicked also had issues with technical performance and crashes. That’s the nature of productions in their EA period. Now it is up to us to help the creators.

Since developers from Donkey Crew trusted the players with the early build of their work, let’s give them all support needed to make Bellwright great. The best thing that can be done is to share your feedback with them through game’s official Discord server. If all the problems are addressed, maybe eventually it will make its way to consoles, too?
