Broken Blade Runner Remaster Salvaged; Fixes on the Way

The refreshed version of the iconic adventure game Blade Runner, released a few days ago, turned out to be full of bugs and questionable improvements, much to the disappointment of fans of the classic cyberpunk game. Fortunately, Nightdive Studios is saving the project by releasing the first update.

Blade Runner is a brand that has won the hearts of millions of people around the world - starting with book lovers (thanks to the novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? by Philip K. Dick), to movie buffs (thanks to the iconic Blade Runner starring Harrison Ford), and gamers. Cyberpunk adventure game Blade Runner from 1997 is one of the most atmospheric video games in history, and also - for its time - extremely innovative, after all, making our actions extremely addictive.

It's no secret that fans of the classics had high hopes for Blade Runner: Enhanced Edition. Meanwhile, it turned out that the released remaster is riddled with issues. Disappointment among players reached a critical level, and the Internet filled with very negative reviews.

As it turns out, Nightdive - the studio responsible for the new version of the adventure game - has not written off its work and has just released the first patch, fixing the most troublesome bugs..

Patch for Blade Runner: Enhanced Edition - list of changes.

Below you can read a list of selected changes that have been introduced to Blade Runner: Enhanced Edition.

  1. Fixed flickering of greenery.
  2. Fixed a bug due to which McCoy could not freely traverse some rooms.
  3. Got rid of a flaw causing shots not to be displayed at 60 fps.
  4. The rendering of fog in some rooms has been improved.
  5. A bug responsible for not displaying items after loading the game has been fixed.
  6. Added an option to change the brightness level in the game.

It is also worth mentioning that this is not the only planned patch for Blade Runner: Enhanced Edition. Nightdive is working by the sweat of its brow on further improvements, which will be introduced in some time. In the developer's briefing note, we can read that the next patch will bring, among other things, a revised game menu or improved controls.
