Cyberpunk 2077 is a popular game from CD Projekt RED, which recently received update 2.0 and paid DLC called Phantom Liberty. Players praise the game, but unfortunately, some of them have problems with bugs. In this guide you will learn, how to deal with the bug that prevents Jackie from driving a car in Cyberpunk 2077 2.0.
Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 Jackie and car bug
Some players have a problem with the situation when Jackie does not want to get into the car after talking about an assignment for Dexter DeShawn and instead walks to the vehicle and stands blocking the door. It is then necessary to walk some distance away, and the character will call us and tell us to meet him at Misty's. Then you can return to the car and go to the place.
Another bug occurs when Jackie is supposed to drive the car after completing the task concerning Sandra Dorsett, but he just sits behind the wheel and does nothing. In this case, you need to do file verification, and then don't run the game through Steam, but directly from the exe file, by right clicking it and running the game as administrator.
- In order to verify the files on Steam, right click on Cyberpunk 2077, go into properties, then go to the installed files tab and there select check the integrity of game files.
- In the case of GOG select the game and click on the icon located just to the right of the play button. Then hover over the manage installation option and then verify/repair.
You will find the exe file in:
"SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Cyberpunk 2077\bin\x64", where you need to find Cyberpunk2077.exe
Cyberpunk 2077 problem with mods
Some of the errors may be related to the mods, even if you have them installed but are not using them. Make sure that all modifications, nexus and redmod files have been removed and no trace of them remains. If that didn't help, copy your save files to a safe place, delete them from the game and start the game over. Alternatively, you can also wait until Cyberpunk 2077 devs release a patch to fix the problems.
