Cyberpunk 2077 May Get a New Complete Edition [Update]
There are many indications that a physical Ultimate edition of Cyberpunk 2077 will hit stores in the near future.
Update
There has been a new leak on the subject, this time its source is the GameStop store chain. It shows that Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition - containing most likely the base game and the recently released Phantom Liberty DLC - will debut on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles on December 5.. As usual, one should approach such information with caution and await an official announcement from CD Projekt.
Original news (October 5)
After months of anticipation, CD Projekt RED has released the Phantom Liberty DLC for Cyberpunk 2077. The release of the paid expansion was preceded by the debut of update 2.0, which introduced a ton of improvements and new features to the now much-loved RPG. And although the developers announced that from now on their attention will rest primarily on new projects, it looks like they are preparing another surprise for Night City fans.
One Reddit user noticed an interesting entry on the PEGI (pan-European game rating system) website, dedicated to Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition (available below).
Although the attached screenshot shows the release date for the new version set for December 31, 2023, this is most likely just a placeholder. Perhaps the actual release will take place even a little earlier. It is worth adding that the entry has apparently already been removed from the PEGI database.
Looking back (read The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Complete Edition), the possible release of Cyberpunk 2077 Ultimate Edition shouldn't surprise anyone. CD Projekt RED most likely wants to release a "base edition" that includes recently released DLCs. Considering the popularity the game now enjoys, surely a lot of people would be tempted to buy the first physical edition of Cyberpunk 2077 for current-gen consoles.
The only puzzling thing is that PEGI's website states that the Ultimate Edition will only be released on Xbox Series X/S consoles. After all, Phantom Liberty is also available on PlayStation 5 and PC.
Therefore, there is nothing left for us to do but to be patient and wait for a relevant announcement from CD Projekt.
