Bad news for “all hobbits.” Studio Weta Workshop has postponed the premiere of Tales of the Shire from the end of 2024 to the beginning of 2025. The announcement containing the information was published on social media, including X.

Using one of the most famous fantasy universes, a variation on the life simulator theme in the land known from J.R.R. Tolkien's novels is quite an unconventional idea. Nevertheless, the title has generated quite a lot of interest, but clearly, players who want to start setting up their hobbit burrows will have to arm themselves with patience.

We can take comfort in the fact that on September 22, we will not only discover the new release date but also find out more about Tales of the Shire. The Weta Workshop team will host a steam called "Hobbit Day Showcase" on that day, celebrating the official Hobbit Day, which marks the birth date of Bilbo and Frodo Baggins.
