Diablo 1 and First Warcraft Available on Battle.net, Instantly Popular
Blizzard has finally filled a gap in its Battle.net offering, adding Diablo and the first two installments of the Warcraft series.
Some players have been surprised and even irritated by the long-standing unavailability of certain older games from Blizzard Entertainment for purchase on Battle.net. This absurd situation has finally been changed and classics have been included in the offer:
- Warcraft: Orcs & Human for $5.99.
- Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness for $9.99 - also includes the expansion Beyond the Dark Portal.
- Diablo for $9.99 - also includes the Hellfire expansion.
It's worth mentioning that although the prices in this store are given in euros, this will change in the future.
All three games have been available for digital distribution on GOG.com for a long time, but their addition to Battle.net is good news, as some players want to have all of Blizzard's games on one platform.
Many gamers had been anticipating this, as these three games quickly became some of the most popular titles on Battle.net after being added to the offer. Naturally, this situation won't last long, and these classic titles will soon be surpassed by the latest releases. Nonetheless, this demonstrates that many fans were eagerly anticipating the inclusion of old studio games in the service's offerings.
However, it's important to note that currently, these games are much cheaper on GOG.com - the first Warcraft is priced at $5.04, while Diablo and Warcraft II are available for $8.84 each.
The addition of these three games to Battle.net has finally completed the website's offer, including all PC titles from the Blizzard studio (excluding Diablo II, but Diablo II: Resurrected is available). We use "PC" because the studio's first project was the fighting game The Death and Return of Superman, which premiered on 16-bit consoles, and there are no signs that anyone will develop a remastered version of this title for modern platforms.
