Differences in Palworld on PC and Xbox. Developer Explains Why Latter is Doing Worse
Gamers are complaining about the poor technical condition of the hugely popular Palworld game on Xbox consoles. The developers have addressed the fans' complaints.
The popular Palworld game, inspired by many elements from the Pokemon series, premiered in early access on PCs and Microsoft consoles last week. Unfortunately, the game isn't devoid of technical problems that take away the pleasure of experiencing it, which is complained about mainly by fans playing on Xbox One and XSX/S.
Palworld on Xbox underperforms
The "charm" of games released in early access (unfortunately not only such) is their technical condition, which requires the intervention of the developers. This is exactly the case with Palworld - even though it might seem that the biggest issue with this title was the co-op mode, which was failing due to server overload.
However, after the meeting with Epic Games, the situation with the servers improved slightly. Nevertheless, the game of Pocket Pair studio is facing other significant issues. According to fans, the condition of Palworld on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and the version available on Xbox Game Pass is far from perfect.
- Various crashes are the most common, leading to being thrown to the console/desktop menu, and some of them prevent the game from launching.
- Endless loading screens and the so-called black screen can appear if the game manages to load assets. Additionally, some people cannot load a save.
- Many players also have issues with inviting friends to the game, joining sessions, and visibility of usernames. The absence of dedicated Palworld servers is responsible for the lagging multiplayer mode, which is only used by the Steam version of the game.
Furthermore, the Xbox and Game Pass dedicated release has issues related to the gameplay itself. Players are reporting issues with crafting items, constructing, character voices, and the random and unwanted behaviors of AI.
Where are the patches?
While Palworld on PC isn't perfect and may have the aforementioned problems, there are definitely fewer of them. Pocket Pair studio has already fixed some of the problems in the Steam version of the game. So what is stopping developers from issuing patches on consoles then? The long wait for the update certification issued by Microsoft is proving to be a hindrance.
On the game's Discord, it was explained that the issue of "patching" Palworld isn't solely up to the devs. Manager for the community wrote:
On Steam, [patch] applied 2 days ago. On Xbox, sitting in the MS certification queue.
Some of these things [fixes] will take extra time... We're really at the mercy of the certification here. We're desperately trying to speed this up.

Pocket Pair Studio has stated that they are aware of the errors that players are facing, but due to the large volume of inquiries, they are unable to respond to everyone fast enough. In total, the developers received over 50,000 messages from players.
According to the studio's announcement, fixes related to multiplayer mode, game saves, and the inability to enter the server are on the way. At the same time, the developers remind about the document, which contains solutions to some problems (including those related to multiplayer).
Xbox players and Game Pass subscribers will have to wait for Microsoft to verify the update and for more announcements from Pocket Pair regarding "patching" Palworld.
