EA Didn’t Show Battlefield 7 Footage, but Fans Already Panic Over New Tech Presentation
The use of AI in games can cause anxiety—sometimes even to the point of exaggeration. Fans fear for the future of Battlefield 7 for no real reason.
The announcement of work on Battlefield 7 provoked a specific reaction among fans, who are afraid of another disappointment after the failure of its predecessor. Not many are willing to trust EA again, even with Vince Zampelli at the helm of the new series - and the company's stance on the use of artificial intelligence only complicates matters. The last presentation raised even more doubts, although they aren't entirely justified.

A few days ago, representatives from EA participated in a New York investor meeting, during which they demonstrated the use of AI to allow players to build new levels. For the material, assets from the infamous Battlefield 2042 were used, but it's worth bearing in mind that this is just a concept for investors - hence, among other things, the imperfect lighting.
As we might expect, the fans' reaction is far from enthusiastic. Reddit users are criticizing the project for its lazy implementation, poor graphics, and potential bugs. However, the biggest concerns were raised about the future of Battlefield 7 - for some reason, it was assumed that the material presented by EA is the alpha version.
This caused widespread panic, "proving" to some that EA DICE had not changed at all and the next game would be as bad as 2042.

A blessing in disguise, the situation calmed down within a few hours. Although the use of AI is still not satisfactory, most people seem to understand that this is just a preliminary example and doesn't indicate "cardboard graphics" in Battlefield 7.
The showcased recording is unrelated to the actual upcoming game, as it wasn't the focus of the presentation. The use of assets from the latest installment of the series was probably just convenient for EA.
Remember, this is an investors and [EA] call, they aren't marketing to consumers with this. They're trying to get funding for projects 5 years from now, we won't see the fruits of this tool in the game that is already in development.
