Fallout 4 Almost Like Cities Skylines - Sim Settlements 2 Delights
The final chapter of the Sim Settlements 2 mod for Fallout 4 has been released. The project not only heavily improves the base building mechanics, but also offers a rich story campaign.
Despite being nearly eight years old, Fallout 4 is still very popular among modders. The latest example of this is the release of the third and final chapter of the modification called Sim Settlements 2.
The mod has two main goals - firstly, it greatly expands the mechanics related to settlement construction, making this aspect of gameplay more similar to city-builder strategies. Secondly Sim Settlements 2 offers a story-rich campaign for a single player, so it's best to play the entire series in order, starting with the first chapter.

You do not have to, however, start from the first Sim Settlements, as it was a mod solely modifying the gameplay, so its knowledge is not needed to play the sequel.
A ton of interesting gameplay ideas
At the foundations of Sim Settlements 2 lies an interesting idea for base construction mechanics.
- Instead of constructing everything on its own, the player carves out zones, establishes goals and building plans, and then watches how it's all implemented by the settlers.
- On their own, they erect buildings, open stores and service centers, and take care to provide adequate infrastructure.
- The mod also adds many new types of buildings, weapons and items.
- The player can also set his own laws and cultural rules for the settlement.
In the third chapter of Sim Settlements 2 the previously defeated Gunners return with a greatly strengthened army and the players must defend their territory from a full-blown invasion. To do this, they create their own army, take care of its supplies and then lead it to victory.
The mod is very elaborate in terms of storyline. During the adventures we encounter many characters with interesting personalities, and the fate of them, as well as of the entire settlement, is shaped by our decisions, ultimately leading to one of several alternative endings.
