Fallout 76 Update Milepost Zero Promises More Dynamic Gameplay with New Outpost System
Bethesda's creative director, Jon Rush, has let out the secret about a new update for Fallout 76. Milepost Zero will introduce the ability to create custom outposts along the caravan route.
Today's Fallout 76 is a far cry from the fairly average game that Bethesda released in 2018. During the six years since the RPG's premiere, the developers have worked hard to make the game meet the fans' expectations. Despite this incredible achievement, the devs didn't rest on their laurels and continued to provide the Fallout 76 community with further reasons to be satisfied. The upcoming update, Milepost Zero, may contribute to the development of a high-quality game.
The update, which is currently only available on the Public Test Server (PTS), was recently the central point of discussion in the editorial team of the PCGamesN service with the creative director of Fallout 76, Jon Rush. During the interview with journalists, the developer shed some light on the new features that the update will introduce to the title.
Activity that will add variety to the game
The key feature of the update appears to be the ability (available after reaching level 20 in the game) to establish a personal outpost along the caravan route, which can be expanded as you advance. After establishing it, players will be able to escort survivors through the wastelands. In addition to running your own caravans, there will also be the possibility of helping others. According to the devs, this will provide the community with additional entertainment while waiting for special activities.
The caravanning keeps the action from going event, wait, event, wait, event – it just keeps it more snappy. And the beauty of it is that you can hop in on somebody else's that's already running and you can still get rewards if it's successful, or you can go make your own and try to get folks to join you. It's really cool, I like the dynamic and what it does for our players as they're going through their daily schedule.
Other attractions
Furthermore, the Milepost Zero update will bring a feature to Fallout 76, enabling players to vote for the top outposts. The works that receive the best reception will be made available to the entire community.
This, however, isn't everything. Update Milepost Zero also includes changes to legendary weapons, CAMP base presentation mechanics, and other events in the game world. At the moment, it isn't known when the final version of the patch will be made available to everyone. It's possible that a companion system may also emerge within its framework.
