Far Cry 7 Antagonist to Be Portrayed by Oppenheimer Actor [Update: Démenti]
Cillian Murphy, who played the lead role in Oppenheimer, won't appear in Far Cry 7 from Ubisoft. The insider commented on the media's speculation, suggesting that he had something else in mind.
UPDATE
Several hours after publishing his leak, j0nathan posted a new post on X: "Let me remind you that I NEVER said that Cillian Murphy would be in this game. These pictures mean something else."
Despite commentators continuing to investigate and even finding a potential link to Assassin's Creed: Red, we advise patience in anticipation of further details, considering the insider's focus on sharing rumors and leaks about Ubisoft games.
Original news (April 21th)
We still have to wait a bit for the official materials from Far Cry 7 by Ubisoft, so in the meantime, we have to satisfy ourselves with rumors about the game. The most recent is particularly hot because it suggests that the star of the hit film Oppenheimer will be involved in the production.
According to j0nathan, who in the past revealed later confirmed leaks about Ubisoft titles, in the developed Far Cry 7 Cillian Murphy may appear as the antagonist. The actor is best known for his recent role as Robert Oppenheimer, as well as his appearances on the TV series Peaky Blinders.
As you can see, the informant posted four graphics with the French caption "If nothing changes by then." The first picture depicts the actor himself. The second one probably refers to the possible plot of the game (we are to be given 72 hours to save the protagonist's family). It's not exactly clear what's going on with the crab, however, the "seven" is probably clear to everyone.
Let's note that these are just unconfirmed information. However, if they came true, Murphy would become the next star - next to Giancarlo Esposito (Far Cry 6) and Michael Mando (Far Cry 3) - who will play the main opponent in the iconic Ubisoft series.
Far Cry 7 will probably be released in the fall of 2025. At least that's what industry journalists are reporting, who have already provided us with an outline of a possible plot.
