Farm Together 2 – Nintendo Switch, Xbox, PlayStations Consoles Release Explained
Farm Together was released in 2018 and it’s available on most of the platforms. As for now, you can play Farm Together 2 only on Steam (and it’s compatible with the Steam Deck), but the good news is that developers are planning a mid-late 2025 release for Xbox Series X, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch! Here’s what they said:
When will the game release on consoles?
It’s still a long way until that! The Early Access period will take some time, and console versions won’t be released until the game development is more advanced. So probably around mid-late 2025.
As for specific consoles, this is the plan:
- Xbox Series / PlayStation 5: Definitely!
- Xbox One / PlayStation 4: The game should run on these, but since it’s a year from now, we believe most people will have already transitioned to the newer systems, so we’re not sure it will be worth the effort.
- Nintendo Switch: We’ll probably release the game on this version, but it could be a cut-down version with fewer features. We won’t know until we get to it and see how the game performs.
- Nintendo Switch 2: We don’t know anything about this, but we’ll try to release the game on it if possible.
When asked about the Early Access period's duration, they responded that it should last 6 to 12 months, based on their experience with prior titles. Purchasing Farm Together 2 during Early Access grants you several benefits: a lower price than the final release cost, the chance to witness the game evolve alongside the community, and the ability to directly influence its development through your feedback.
On the bright side, Farm Together 2 devs confirmed that saves will carry over to the full release and should not be lost on any future updates. So, you can rest assured that your farm will be safe and sound, no resets required.
