GTA Online Soon to Lose Important Feature on PS4, XOne
GTA 5 and GTA Online on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will soon lose access to Rockstar's editor. The developers released this information, and gave their explanation.
Game devs are more likely to skip older Sony and Microsoft consoles when releasing their games. Sometimes they also stop developing already existing titles in PS4 and Xbox One versions. Rockstar Games opted for the latter approach with GTA Online and GTA V.
PS4 and XOne without Rockstar editor in GTA Online and GTA 5
During the last update, the devs from Rockstar informed PlayStation 4 and Xbox One owners that in just over a month they will lose access to the Rockstar Editor.
- It will be removed from GTA Online for PS4 and Xbox One on February 20th. The mode will still be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S.
- Together with the editor, all materials saved on player accounts will disappear. To avoid losing them, you should move them to a different device in advance. Thanks to the developers' tips, you can find out how to do it.
The developers clarify that this decision will help them maintain better game stability on older consoles and continue to provide new features in GTA Online on PS4 and Xbox One for as long as they can. Let's remind that thanks to the Rockstar editor, you can record your gameplay, and then edit it using the built-in options.
