A few days ago we celebrated the 25th birthday of Half-Life. Valve prepared a big update of the first part of the series for the occasion. However, modders also decided to celebrate the anniversary. GB_2 Development Team released a new version of Half-Life Alyx NoVR, a modification that enables you to play Half-Life: Alyx without VR goggles.
Instead of a number, the new version is simply called "25th Anniversary Update." The authors added more interactivity options, updated physics and improved some animations based on community feedback (more changes of this type are on the way).

Recall that the project enables you to play Half-Life: Alyx as a classic PC game. Not only has the VR requirement been removed, but the controls and gameplay have also been thoroughly reworked so that the whole thing can be played with a mouse and keyboard. This, of course, forced some simplification - complicated actions performed with VR controllers have been replaced here by pressing keys and simple mouse movements, but despite this, the whole thing still makes an excellent impression and enables people without virtual reality goggles to finally play the latest installment of the series.
Recall that Half-Life: Alyx debuted in March 2020. The game is available exclusively on PC.
Currently, the game can be bought quite a lot cheaper thanks to the autumn sale on Steam. As part of it, the price has been reduced by 66%. The offer will remain valid until November 28, this year.
