Eclipse Cortex is a vital resource in Once Human, serving as a crucial component in the purification process. This guide will delve into the methods of acquiring different types of Cortex and its significance in obtaining Starchrom for Wish Machine.

Once Human – Eclipse Cortex

Cortexes can be used in Stardust Resonant Filter to produce Starchrom, a valuable currency for Wish Machine, where you can buy new character and equipment upgrades. Higher-tier Eclipse Cortexes yield more Starchrom when purified. Combine Cortexes at the Synthesis Bench to create higher levels.

There are several methods to obtain Eclipse Cortex:

  1. Defeating elite enemies – this is the most reliable strategy for this resource. There are at least 3 bosses in Blackfell Oil Field and 7 in Blackfell, all of which have a chance to drop the material. Defeat them and wait for them to respawn.
  2. Public Crisis Events and Wardband activities offer a chance to earn it.

If you're having trouble facing elite enemies and bosses, check out our guides on various builds, such as Sniper, Power Surge, or Shrapnel, to help you get ready for these encounters.

Now, let’s break the numbers. You can purify a maximum of 40 stones per week using the Stardust Resonant Filter. It’s worth noting that Hive Territories grants a bonus amount of Starchrome to each member. Here’s how much Starchrom you will get from each tier of Eclipse Cortexes:

  1. Eclipse Cortex lvl 1 – 70 Starchroms.
  2. Eclipse Cortex lvl 2 – 85 Starchroms.
  3. Eclipse Cortex lvl 3 – 100 Starchrom.

To illustrate, purifying only Level 1 Cortexes yields 2800 Starchrom weekly, while Level 3 offers 4000. If you want to get the best blueprints from Wish Machine, prioritize collecting Cortexes and combining lower tiers into higher ones. This strategy maximizes Starchrom output.
