After Nearly 10 Years in Development, Unique Medieval Game About Building War Machines Isn't Slowing Down. Besiege Set to Receive Plenty of Free Content
The developers of Besiege revealed further development plans for the game. Later this year we will receive two updates, with more awaiting in 2025.
Besiege has been available on Steam Early Access for almost ten years, and it has been over four years since the game left Early Access. Despite this, the developers have no intention of abandoning this title. The day before yesterday, the game was released on Nintendo Switch, and the devs revealed their development plans for this year and next.
- In 2024, Besiege will receive two more updates. The first one will improve the level editor by adding numerous new objects and implementing modifications to facilitate the creation of water maps.
- The Block Update is the name of the second patch we will receive later this year. As the title suggests, it will add new blocks to the crafting system, opening up new machine-building features for players.
- There are plans for a big update in 2025 to celebrate the game's 10th birthday. The patch will refresh and expand its historical elements and introduce extra challenges.
- It's important to note that this birthday update won't be the only one to launch in 2025. For now, the developers aren't ready to reveal any details regarding subsequent patches.
Let us remind that Besiege is currently only available on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, and Nintendo Switch. On December 12, it will also debut on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
The game is currently on sale on Steam, with a 75% discount, allowing you to purchase it for $3.74. The offer will remain valid until September 18th.
